Feast of the Hunter's Moon

This weekend we went to the Feast of the Hunter's Moon. It is a festival that dates to the 1700's which resembles a gathering the Native Americans and French which is a time when the harvest was in, the traders had returned home and the hunting was at its best.

There were different vendors selling period type stuff like hand woven blankets, animal pelts and pottery. There were lots of fur vendors and some even had wolverine furs! They were beautiful but not pretty enough to pay $450!

This guy was making spoons. The metal he was making can turn from solid to liquid in under 3 seconds when dipped back in the boiling metal!

There were fife and drum corps on the battlefield and a recreation of a battle between the British and French.

This guy was pretty cool. He must have been a trader or something in that time. Seeing as it was about 80-85 degrees that day he must have been dying of heat!
