Indy 500, 2010

This past weekend was the 6th year that we have been going to the Indy 500. I can't believe we have been here that long! The only reason we went the first year is because we didn't think we would ever have the opportunity again. Little did we know that it would become a tradition!

The day started out very, very early. At 4:30am we were on the road and by 7am we were at the track.

When we got to the track the moon was still out and we still had about 6-7 hours before the race evern started...

And we got to see the sunrise over the track...how romantic...

Before we got sunburned from the unbearable heat...

It was so hot the beer was 'sweating' so Z made a beer coozie out of a cardboard box...Classy...

We decided to go for a walk to check things out...

The drivers were walking onto the track and we got to see a few.
Tony Kanann....

Not sure who this is, but I think it is the one who had a horrible crash at the last lap of the race...

During the last lap of the race there was a crazy crash right in front of us! Half of his car was in front of us and the other half was farther up the track. This guy is lucky to be alive and only escaped with some fractures...

I know leave you with some classy people we saw at the 500. I may need to incorporate some of these into this years white trash party costume.
Beer belt....

Umbrella hat with ear phones...
