Alaska Part III - Seward

We stayed a few nights in Seward and went on a deep sea fishing trip for cod and halibut. Besides catching a lot fish we also so a lot of sea life.

Puffin...

Sea lions...

Whales...

And on our way back to the dock we saw this little guy hanging out eating clams...

The first spot we stopped to fish was a spot for cod. Within 15 minutes everyone on the boat (6 people) had caught 1 each which is all we can keep. I never realized how large these fish are and when you are reeling them in at 300+ feet it is tiring!

We then went on to get our halibut and we also caught some yellow eye rockfish that are really pretty. The name says it all as they large yellow eyes and bright orange bodies. Everyone on the boat caught one of those as well.

Here is Jim hooking into a halibut...

At the end of the day my arms were shot but it was so worth it! In the end we got 4 halibut, 2 rockfish and 2 cod to take home!

Here are my rockfish and cod...

Here is Jim's rockfish. They are a really pretty fish...

This is the boat's total for the day!
